Mothering Sunday

Mothering Sunday was previously referred to as 'Refreshment Sunday' and it marked the mid-Lent period when fasting restrictions were relaxed for the day, allowing families to come together and savour a delightful meal. It offered a chance to enjoy some indulgent, rich food for the day, providing a break from the rigorous Lenten observances.

I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE the excuse of Mothers Day to get together with my family and share a delicious meal, a few giggles and lots of cuddles with the Grandkids. Unfortunately, my Mom is no longer with us, but we absolutely do raise a glass in her honour as Muvs Day as we called it, was a particular favourite of hers, for exactly the same reasons as it's mine.

Do you celebrate? If so, how do you do it?

If you are seeking a special Mothers Day Gift, why not give the gift of relaxation?
